A woman of true integrity and one that needs all the accolades; Dr Veronica Agathar Martinson celebrated her 100th birthday recently. She was the former Executive Director of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), a position she held on for 29 years respectfully.
CRIG is a government research institution leading research into cocoa and other crops such as coffee, cashew, shea etc. Since the establishment of the institution in 1993, there has been only one female Executive Director in the person of Dr Veronica Agathar Martinson.
During her time in the office, she did numerous research in the cocoa and coffee industry. Some of the research done by the institution is not only on agronomics but developmental in areas of crop utilization. Several awards have been won by CRIG, locally and international.
Earlier in September, the Chief of Staff (from the office of the president) and the management team of COCOBOD joined the family of Dr Martinson to celebrate the 100th year of a noblewoman. Her birthday is a celebration for all women who have lived to change the status quo for generations to come.
She is the epitome of greatness and the team of GAJReport stands with her family to celebrate the life she’s living.
