Thomas Kwadwo Hinneh Scholarship Success Story. Thomas Kwadwo Hinneh is a Senior Officer of the Ghana Health Service and a Founder of HI Foundation Ghana; an NGO creating awareness for hypertension and diabetes in Ghana. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
He is a member of the health professionals’ network of the International Federation of Diabetes, Fellow of the African Changemakers’ initiative, member of the links global community for Cardiovascular health, among others.
In 2019, Thomas was awarded four globally competitive scholarships in the world; the Commonwealth shared Scholarship, The Australia Africa Awards, The Chevening Scholarship and the DAAD Scholarship.
Thomas possesses an unquenchable passion for addressing the burden of Hypertension and Diabetes in Ghana, especially in rural communities.
He demonstrated this tenacity throughout his professional life by initiating interventions that have improved the life of hypertensive and diabetic clients in his community.
Thomas is currently studying a Master of Science International Health program at one of the renowned institutes of Global Health in the world; the Heidelberg University in Germany.
Coming from a rural community in the Berekum West Constituency, Thomas believes in intrinsic motivation and looking beyond the borders of limitation in every opportunity as his slogan.
He looks forward to leading innovative programs on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease control in Ghana and the sub-region.
