Ghana’s Top 3 Events This Christmas

By: Nana K. Bonsu

If you weren’t in Ghana for the Christmas holidays, you definitely missed out. The month of December, brought joy amongst the people. GAJ was behind the scenes to capture the countries momentous events. We will be listing the Top 3 events this holiday season.

    1. Afrochella – A celebration of African culture, which consisted of food, art, and music at the Accra Polo Club. Giving Ghana a feel of its own Coachella, in Africa. Showcasing some of Ghana’s top acts this year, with top headliner Ebony, King Promise, B4Bonah, Magnom, Kwesi Arthur, DarkoVibes, and Broni. GAJ was able to walk through the entire event and visualize the beautiful culture of Ghana. Our team was able to talk with top artist/ entrepreneur in the country Okuntakinte, a young mogul whose artwork is a reflection of modern day African slavery. The Afrochella team did an amazing job combining entertainment and culture, making it enjoyable for all ages. Hosted by Americas own PJKev, and MrCocoyam. Watch the Ghanaian American Journal as we walk through the festival. Stay tuned for next year.

2. Lil Havana 2- An all white Cuban themed outdoor event all the way in the hilltops of Aburi, Ghana. The GAJ team jammed from evening to the next morning. With live performances from King Promise, Kidi, and B4Bonnah. Also had some of the best Afrobeat DJs from across the globe, such as DJ Neptizzle from the UK, DJ Nyce from Ghana, who won Best Female DJ in Ghana 2017, and many more. MC Jonny Stone, from Y1079FM kept the crowd on their feet. With special guest appearances from America, top celebrity private jet charter owner, PJKev, the famous Hollywood Boakye Brothers (Kofi Siriboe, Kwame Boateng, and Kwesi Boakye), and Nigerian Socialelite Ray Hushpuppi. Lil Havana was not an event to miss.

3. Rob Definitions 13 TH  Annual All White and All Black– Rob is definitely a master in his craft, always pulling people from all over the country to his event for 13 good years in Ghana. Not only to say he’s been organizing major events back in the United States. His All Black Event, which was a sold out event at the MultiChoice TV station, had the likes of Sarkodie, Ahoufe Patri, and Captain Planet all present. It was epic. Rob had scheduled to have his All White Party at MultiChoice TV the following day, but postponed it due to the magnitude of people that had said they were coming. So his All White event spearheaded the New Year on January 1st, at Sandbox Beach Resort. Another GAJ bannger, where the team enjoyed great music, and food. His All White event was well attended by Ghana’s top acts, Kidi, MzVee, DarkoVibes, Samini, and Wisa. Rob please tell us your secret?
