19th Edition Of The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in Retrospect

The 18th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music awards, took place last Saturday at the Accra international conference center . The annual Awards recognises the works of musicians and producers who have excelled during the year under review of the awards. The event saw many music lovers and patrons of Ghanaian and international music attend the event. The red carpet was gracefully hosted by the duo A.J sarpong of Citi Fm and Johnny Hughes of TV3 and 3fm. The event kicked of at exactly 8:30pm which was quite impressive as compared to what was gradually becoming the norm a few years ago of starting the program late. All through the event there were no technical hitches and the program run smoothly without any hiccups.
Many artistes however did not show up but the few who made sure they did , looked smashing in their attires.
Artiste or the year was posthumously given to the late Ebony who worked tirelessly last year to release many hit songs that were loved by many.
She won record of the year too. Male vocalist of the year went to Joe Mettle while the female Vocalist of the year went to Adina. The most controversial award that night , was the most popular song of the year which was snatched by fancy Gaddam to the amazement of many. Sarkodie won the best rapper of the year and the young lord in Ghanaian rap music , Kwesi Arthur , the grind day hitmaker snatched the hip hop song of the year.
In all the event was crowned with an amazing cocktail party organized by Vodafone ghana dubbed The Vodafone Redroom.
