Digital Foundation Africa through its women initiative GetHer over the weekend, trained about 200 ladies with skills in Makeup, photography, and social media across 7 regions through blended learning approaches.
The event dubbed #GetHerMPS happened on April 24, 2021 at the Accra Digital Centre in collaboration with Awake Mineral Water, CheezzyPizza, Soaesthetics, Sincerely Ghana and the National Television and Film Institute, with 40 ladies allowed to participate in-person and the rest across the other 6 regions joining via online due to covid-19 protocols which were observed.
GetHer has been running for the past 3 years with a mission to empower a million women under the foundation with skills such as video editing, livestreaming production, digital marketing, agribusiness among other digital and soft skills.
Accordingly to the CVO (Chief Vision Officer) of Digital Foundation Africa, Foster Kofi Sam “the mission is to empower, develop and position women and girls to become digitally inclined and skilled to bridge the gap in Africa’s digital ecosystem as well as making them entrepreneurial”.
He also encouraged more brands and developmental organizations to fund and support initiatives like GetHer, to achieve its mandate of empowering more women with digital skills.

Sincerely Ghana, led by Menaye Donkoh, also supported the participants with some sanitary pads said, “as they are learning the skills, getting their menstrual hygiene and appearance in shape is also key as she is championing the lifestyle of confidence and freedom for women”.
