Rhythm Nation’s debut concert headlining Kojo Antwi in Washington D.C was a thriller

Ghanaian Afro Pop, Highlife, and Reggae legend Kojo Antwi, a.k.a. “Mr. Music Man” and his Rainbow Tribe band performed live at Rhythm Nation‘s debut event on the night of September 24th to the wee hours of the following morning at Karma Music Center, Washington, D.C.

The over 800-attendee event launched the expected debut with an opening musical performance from the DC-based 4EVER FRIENDS Band.

The local band ignited the stage with musical synergies, to the amazement of an audience that has missed live music performances in the region since the global pandemic lockdown.

Kojo Antwi and his Rainbow Tribe band then mounted the stage after the local band and performed a lyrical breakdown of the legendary singer’s popular hits to a sing-along crowd that had fans traveling all across the United States just to catch a glimpse and sing along to the chorus.

He thrilled the sold-out venue to many of his classics and left fans wanting more of his evergreen music.

Ghanaian Hi-life, Afro, and Neo-soul singer and songwriter Nana Yaa Thomas also performed live on stage alongside Kojo Antwi and his band, further raising the excitement of their fans.

According to Brand Africa Group – the firm that launched Rhythm Nation, the feature of Ghanaian musical legend, Kojo Antwi for the debut concert was a strategic move.

In a post-event interview with TheAfricanDream.net, Brand Africa Group said they have other future events planned and that “Rhythm Nation will soon announce Live Music events across cities in the Diaspora and the African Continent that showcase various Artists from the Diaspora and the African continent”

The collaboration was expected to launch Rhythm Nation’s desire to fill the void of a dedicated live music production platform that further puts African and Diasporan music on a global playlist.

“Rhythm Nation brings regular celebrations of music, performing, and visual arts from the African continent and the Diaspora. Through the development of regional, national and global events, we create a tie from the African continent to the Diaspora,” said Rhythm Nation.

Kojo Antwi’s next concert in the United States is scheduled for Atlanta in Georgia where he’s expected to hit the stage at E-Hall South, 5382 Jonesboro Road, Lake City, GA. Get tickets to the event using this LINK.
