African Streetwear brand MIZIZI launches Unique Soccer Jersey Collection

African Streetwear brand MIZIZI recently launched MIZIZI F.C., a limited edition collection of soccer jerseys celebrating the five African nations competing for soccer glory: Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.

With MIZIZI F.C., soccer gets a sleek, bold new edit. Rich heritage meets elevated street style with traditional patterns subtly adorning solid canvases and sporty silhouettes. Color palates and symbolic motifs represent each nation’s unique flag and history. Independence years are splashed prominently on the back.

The MIZIZI F.C. campaign features a diaspora cast of models and influencers donning the new soccer jerseys as imagined by designers Kenneth William Obeng, Emmanuel Kofi Berko, and MIZIZI Founder and CEO Paakow Essandoh: smart, striking, and effortlessly cool.

MIZIZI Founder Paakow Essandoh came up with the idea for MIZIZI F.C. after feeling like there was room for more African pride as we approached the games.

“I wanted to create MIZIZI FC because, from what we’ve observed, there’s a lot of room to make African soccer kits more interesting, more unique, and more inspired by our heritage. Much of what we see from national teams is sort of generic designs made by huge brands. So MIZIZI decided to do what we do best: create something dope that Africans would really want to wear to display their pride. Kits that would allow everyone to represent their countries with swagger, with style.” Essandoh said.

MIZIZI is a Swahili word meaning “roots,” and the streetwear brand has amassed an audience of hundreds of thousands on its mission to encourage the African diaspora to #StayRooted.

This collection was designed with that mission in mind: to inspire connection, celebration, and representation. This is a soccer-style reimagined for a modern generation, always rooted and never apologetic.

“The ultimate goal is to be the official, go-to kit designers for African nations across sports,” Essandoh added. “MIZIZI is all about elevated, next-level sport style. We’ve always remained dedicated to our continent and want to outfit African players in the best kits they’ve ever worn. Kits that really represent each unique nation, honor their heritage, and make fans feel proud.”

Ghana Black Stars player Harrison Afful recently showed his support by posting a photo on Instagram wearing the MIZIZI F.C. Ghana jersey.

The MIZIZI FC collection is available online at mizizishop.com. Jerseys are priced at$80 and are available in adult sizes XS-5XL.
