Ghana drops all COVID-19 restrictions

Ghana has lifted all COVID-19 restrictions at entry points across the country, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) announced on Saturday (20 May).

A statement issued by the director-general of the GHS, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said the decision to lift the restrictions was in response to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) declaration early May that the pandemic is no longer considered a public health emergency of international concern.

The statement said pre-departure testing and testing at all entry points are no longer mandatory for all passengers, adding that the COVID-19 health declaration form for international travelers has been suspended.
