Akufo-Addo to deliver State of the Nation Address on 27 February

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament on Tuesday 27 February.

Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, made this announcement on Tuesday, 6th February, as Parliament resumed its session.

This aligns with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, mandating the President to deliver a message on the State of the Nation to Parliament at the beginning of each session and before Parliament’s dissolution.

The address is expected to highlight the government’s key policy objectives for the year as well as provide information on the government’s current position in addressing current economic conditions.

The address will touch on a broad range of topics, including education, security, health, and agriculture, offering a comprehensive overview of the state of the nation.
