Mr. Taylor, Jr. is a global authority on the future of employment, culture, and leadership, and recognized as one of the “300 Most Influential Executives in Corporate America.”

The keynote of the event will align with the GCHRA’s theme, “A Global Discourse on Exploring the Emergence and Dynamics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Resource Technologies in Africa” and engage the audience of leading global business leaders, policymakers, technologists, educators, and Human Resources practitioners on cutting-edge insights and robust discussions on the future of HR in Africa.

“I am thrilled to give the keynote address at GCHRA’s inaugural conference,” said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, President and CEO of SHRM.

“This historic event marks the first time SHRM has had the privilege of speaking in person in Ghana, and I can think of no better location for HR professionals to convene and collectively examine how AI and HR technology are reshaping the future of work globally and on the continent of Africa. As HR professionals, we must lead the conversation on how to embrace and prepare our workforce for the advent of this game-changing technology by reinventing recruiting, talent management, employee engagement, and other strategic functions that will shape the future of HR in Africa and beyond.”

Taylor, whose role as President and CEO of SHRM with nearly 340,000 members in 180 countries, impacts the lives of more than 362 million workers and their families globally.

The GCHRA conference will provide invaluable perspectives on how AI and HR technologies can be harnessed to foster growth and innovation in Africa’s workplaces and will feature:

In his one-on-one interview with David Wilson, GCHRA Team Lead on Operational Excellence, Mr. Taylor spoke candidly about SHRM’s interest in GCHRA and visiting Ghana, “We know where the puck is going. We know where the global superpowers are going to be. SHRM is trying to look at the future and build now. You can’t wake up in 2040 and decide we’re now going to build relationships with Africa. We have to start right now and perhaps should have started 10 years ago.”
