Accra – Theatre lovers were treated to a thrilling cultural fusion as “SIM MAJORLEY”, a powerful stage adaptation of a Korean classic folktale by celebrated Ghanaian playwright Latif Abubakar, premiered to great acclaim at the Korean Sports Centre.

The highly anticipated debut attracted notable dignitaries, including the Honourable Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and His Excellency Park Kyongsig, the Korean Ambassador to Ghana.
Both praised the production for its creativity, cross-cultural storytelling, and the strengthening of Ghana-Korea cultural ties.

“SIM MAJORLEY” weaves the essence of Korean folklore into a distinctly Ghanaian narrative, blending traditional motifs, witty dialogue, and socially relevant themes that resonated deeply with the audience.
The performance showcased Abubakar’s signature style infusing humour, moral lessons, and contemporary issues with high-energy acting and direction.

The play is part of efforts to enhance cultural exchange and mutual appreciation between Ghana and Korea, a sentiment echoed in Ambassador Park’s speech at the premiere: “Art like this bridges worlds and brings our people closer together.”
