The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has commenced stakeholder engagements in preparation for the 2025 edition of December in GH, the flagship event of the broader Black Star Experience.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the Shipper’s Authority, brought together event organisers, industry partners, security agencies and key players across the tourism and creative sectors.
The CEO of the GTA, Maame Efua Houadjeto, emphasised the need for stronger coordination, discipline and operational excellence as Ghana prepares for another globally anticipated festive season.
She highlighted that the Black Star Experience anchored by December in GH has grown into a national economic driver, boosting tourism arrivals, stimulating investment, expanding the creative economy, and increasing regional participation.
The expanding event calendar, she stated, reflects the international community’s growing confidence in Ghana as a premium destination for culture, entertainment and hospitality.
She stressed that growth must be matched with responsibility, with safety, compliance and service quality remaining top priorities to maintain visitors’ trust in Ghana’s authentic hospitality.
The engagement focused on improving inter-agency coordination, identifying operational gaps, anticipating risks, and reinforcing standardised procedures for seamless event execution. Stakeholders were encouraged to adopt openness, agility and a solutions-driven approach for this year’s festivities.
Three operational priorities were outlined for December in GH 2025:
Strengthening compliance and safety protocols across all event venues.
Ensuring timely communication and coordination to avoid last-minute disruptions.
Enhancing data collection and reporting to support evidence-based planning and impact assessment.
The Authority assured stakeholders of continued support through structured facilitation, improved inter-agency responsiveness and swift resolution of operational bottlenecks.
Ghana Tourism Authority reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the global credibility of the Black Star Experience and delivering a December season that positions Ghana at the forefront of cultural and tourism excellence.
