Apple Music Unveils Africa Rising: Class of 2026 – Six New Voices Shaping the Continent’s Sound

Apple Music has announced the Africa Rising: Class of 2026, highlighting six emerging artists from across the continent as part of its ongoing effort to support and amplify new African talent.

The selected artists are Ciza from South Africa, tg.blk from Kenya, Gonaboy from Ghana, and Nigerian acts Damie, Khid Ceejay, and ru. Each represents a distinct sound, reflecting the diversity and evolving global reach of African music.

According to Apple Music, the Africa Rising initiative is designed to provide artists with greater visibility through editorial support, playlist placement, and radio features.

The Class of 2026 artists will be showcased on a special edition of Africa Now Radio, hosted by broadcaster and musician Nandi Madida, where they will discuss their creative journeys and future plans.

Several of the artists say they are preparing major releases in the coming year, including new singles, music videos and full-length projects. Their music draws on a wide range of influences, including Afrobeats, Afro-pop, highlife, hip-hop and alternative sounds.

Launched in 2020, Africa Rising has previously featured artists who have gone on to achieve international recognition, including Rema, Tems, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, Amaarae and Tyla.

Apple Music says the programme reflects its commitment to supporting African musicians and connecting them with global audiences as the continent’s music continues to gain worldwide prominence.
