The sound of a shot leaving Zinabu Issah’s hand tells a story of strength, discipline, and determination.
Issah has become one of Ghana’s leading para-athletes, representing the country on some of the biggest stages in international sport.
Competing in the F57 classification, she specializes in shot put and discus events that require power, precision, and years of dedicated training.
Her journey has helped change the way disability sport is viewed in Ghana. She represented Ghana at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, competing in the women’s F57 shot put and discus events.
Her appearance at the Games has placed her among athletes competing at the highest level of para-sport.
Issah also made her mark internationally, winning medals at major para-athletics competitions and strengthening her reputation as a top-level thrower. Her performances have earned national recognition, including being named the Sports Writers Association of Ghana’s Best Para Athlete of the Year in 2025.
Her achievements reached another milestone at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she won silver in the women’s F57 shot put, delivering one of Ghana’s memorable moments at the competition.
