Scattered Seeds: A Celebration Of African Art.

0

On August 8 2026 the much anticipated art exhibition ‘Scattered Seeds’ powered by Dream Team International brought together creatives for an unforgettable night of conversation and celebration of African artistry.

Held in the Washington DC area, the event provided a platform for numerous visual artists and photographers with African descent and heritage to share their works and connect with an audience.

From the moment attendees arrived, the atmosphere reflected a shared appreciation for African art and culture, transforming the space at 1155 DAHLIA ST NW WASHINGTON DC 20012 into a beacon of connection and collaboration.

The exhibition collection had pieces from the artists, Michael Asante, Michael Acheampong, Ashmond Kwesy, Kwaku Kr3, Genet Gebrezgiabher, Ayo, Dex, Nana1zart, and Kwamzy, each providing a different artistic vision within the collective space.

The night was filled with conversations surrounding the promotion and spotlighting of the African creative community and economy as a whole.

From the artworks to the music, every element of the exhibition was an ode to a shared root between Africans on the continent and across the diaspora.

Dream Team International once again successfully curated a meaningful intersection of community and art, continuing its commitment to creating spaces that celebrate creativity, connection, and shared experiences.

This dedication to community building has been reflected through previous initiatives including:

‘DMV Pop Up’ in collaboration with Jude Dontoh and Yellow Studios, ‘Inside The Men’s Group Chat’, ‘Roots and Restoration’ in collaboration with Twirl Global, ‘Black Volta Creators & Creative Mixer’ in partnership with Black Volta, and DMV Party in the Park, among many other community focused events.

Scattered Seeds was a great extension of cultural movement and experience, and it came alive as a space where African artists could be seen, heard and celebrated.
