Election2024: The “Men” who wants to lead and impact Ghana

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 general elections in December, the political landscape is charged with anticipation.

Twelve presidential aspirants standing on the ticket of political parties and 12 others who are standing as independent entities have filed their nominations with the Electoral Commission (EC) to contest the presidential slot in the 7 December general election.

Although 39 people picked up passcodes to enable them to fill and file the presidential nomination forms, the 24 submitted the completed forms as of the close of business last Friday.

However, two candidates submitted their forms after the 5 p.m. cutoff, and their eligibility will be determined by the EC.

The EC opened nominations from Monday, September 9, to Friday, September 13, 2024. Currently, the commission is reviewing the submitted forms to ensure all candidates meet the legal requirements.

According to the EC’s electoral timetable, the ballot for presidential candidates will be held on Monday, September 23, while the parliamentary ballot will follow on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

This election is not just about choosing a leader but about deciding the direction in which Ghana will head in the next four years. The future of the nation lies in the hands of its citizens as they weigh their options and determine who can best lead and impact Ghana in the years to come.
