Ghana’s dynamic music duo, R2Bees, is set to light up Minneapolis this August as the headline act for the 8th annual Shutdown All White Invasion Concert.
The much-anticipated cultural celebration will take place on August 15, 2025, at The Cabooze, with festivities kicking off at 5 PM and continuing until 11 PM, followed by an electrifying after-party at The Bazemnt.
Made up of Omar Sterling (Faisal Hakeem) and Mugeez (Rashid Mugeez), R2Bees are known across the globe for their smooth fusion of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B. Fans can expect to groove to timeless hits like “Kiss Your Hand,” “Slow Down,” “Tonight,” and “Life” as the pair take centre stage in one of Minnesota’s biggest annual African cultural events.

The concert, founded by Julian Asiedu (aka Jagonzy) and the Shutdown Boys, has evolved into more than just a music show. It’s a vibrant expression of African pride, featuring live performances, fashion displays, and cultural showcases designed to celebrate heritage and build bridges across communities.
This year’s edition will spotlight a wide array of rising stars and local talent, including Foreignward, Rudeboy Solo, Nilo Boy, H Hardy, YOQB, Dat Boi Tropical, No. Bodyu, P Willz, Koo Wiase, Zennah, and YQ Solo—bringing diversity and energy to the stage.
A powerhouse line-up of DJs will keep the vibes flowing throughout the night, with sets from DJ Lyriks, DJ Eazy E, DJ Elmara, DJ Kuda, DJ Game, DJ Soundtainer, DJ MKZ x DJ D-Waynne, DJ Famous, DJ Oceeking, Hidden DJ, DJ Boziah, and more.
The show will be emceed by some of the diaspora’s favorite personalities—KMJ, The Royal Host, and Ghanaian Rozay (The Mouth of the South)—guaranteeing charisma, humor, and a lively crowd.
