Veteran Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has arrived in Accra to take part in the much-anticipated Africa Art stage play, The Black Star – The Teacher of Africa.
The production, directed by Ghanaian filmmaker Emmanuel Ato Ghartey, will be staged on 19, 20, and 21 September at the University of Ghana Amphitheatre.
Described as a celebration of African heritage, history, and identity, the play seeks to immerse audiences in the continent’s rich cultural tapestry through powerful storytelling and captivating performances.
Organisers say the presence of Segun Arinze—one of Nigeria’s most respected screen and stage actors—adds an extra layer of anticipation to the production. “Fans and theatre lovers alike can expect a performance that resonates across the continent,” they noted.
The Black Star – The Teacher of Africa is billed as a cultural highlight on Ghana’s arts calendar, merging art, history, and performance in a way that not only entertains but also inspires reflection on Africa’s shared journey.
