Ghana’s Bola Ray wins African Media Icon Award

Ghanaian media entrepreneur Nathan Kwabena Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, has been awarded the African Media Icon Award at the 2026 African Heritage Awards held in Accra.

The award recognises his contribution to the growth of African media over nearly three decades, including his work as a broadcaster and founder of EIB Network.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Bola Ray said the recognition was not only for him but for “every storyteller shaping the African narrative”.

The African Heritage Awards, organised by Heritage Times, celebrate individuals and institutions contributing to development across the continent.

President John Mahama was among dignitaries present at the event.

This year’s ceremony marked the first time the awards have been hosted in Ghana.
