Asantehene delivers royal lecture at Howard University

Ghana’s Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has delivered a royal lecture at Howard University in Washington, DC.

The King of the Asante people addressed students, faculty and guests at the university’s Cramton Auditorium on Tuesday, 25 August, as part of events organised with the Millennium Excellence Foundation.

His address focused on African unity, the preservation of cultural heritage and the enduring ties between Africa and the global African diaspora.

The visit forms part of Millennium Excellence Week, which includes events on culture, leadership, business and investment in the United States.
