Ghanaian contestant Reuben Nii Adom has won the Best National Costume award at Mister Global 2026 in Thailand, marking a notable achievement for Ghana on the international pageant stage.
Adom’s award-winning outfit, reportedly titled From Chains to Legacy, was designed by Ghanaian fashion designer Mankatah Dinaire.
The design draws inspiration from Ghana’s history as the former Gold Coast, its historic coastal forts and castles, and the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade.
Through its historical references, the costume presents an interpretation of Ghana’s past and its enduring cultural identity, highlighting themes of resilience and national pride.
The recognition also provides an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian fashion design and cultural storytelling to an international audience.
Although Adom did not win the overall Mister Global 2026 title, his Best National Costume award represents a significant achievement for Ghana’s participation in the competition.
