The Only Thing That Matters

Aside from how you feel, nothing else matters. A feeling is a confirmation that you are alive. At any particular moment, how you feel is the only thing that matters. Let’s group all kinds of feelings into two: positive and negative. Any feeling you do not want is a negative feeling. I don’t know anyone who will want to be angry, sad, depressed or experience any other negative feeling because they don’t make us feel great. Neither do I know anyone who will not want to feel loved, joyful, blissful, peaceful, ecstatic, or any other positive feeling because they make us feel great. It is imperative to know each feeling is different, but it is either leaning towards the positive side or the negative side.

Love is a sweet and a great feeling. All positive feelings emanate from love and all negative feelings emanate from the absence of love. Fortunately, we can choose to love at any moment. There are innumerable things and billions of people you can choose to love at any moment. Thus, you can always feel great!

To develop the ability to make a deliberate choice of feeling at any moment, you need to enhance your awareness.  Regardless of how positive you are, negative feelings will occasionally pay you a visit. Your only task is to spot it immediately and see it off right away by exuding love. This is easier said than done.

Generally, there are two categories of people: those that experience more positive feelings than negative feelings (Group Yes) and those that experience more negative feelings than positive feelings (Group No). If you are in Group Yes, then you should have a great life because a great life is essentially a life full of positive feelings. Yes, I will always say yes to Group Yes and no to Group No.

Emotions are just the juicy part of thoughts – Sadhguru

Thoughts and feelings are interconnected. You cannot have negative thoughts continuously and feel great. In view of this, the ability to control our thoughts affords us the ability to exercise control over our feelings. Thoughts are processed internally based on the data gathered from the external environment, but feelings are solely an internal happening. This means the experience of life is always within, hence the only thing that matters.
