Dr Pamela Graham has been appointed as Ghana’s first female Auditor-General, in a landmark development for the country’s audit service.

She was sworn into office on 2 July 2026 as the 11th Auditor-General since Ghana’s independence in 1957.

Graham, a veteran audit professional with about 25 years of experience, previously served as a partner at Ernst & Young (EY).

Speaking at her swearing-in ceremony, she pledged to uphold independence, integrity and professionalism, while strengthening accountability in the management of public funds.

Graham said her appointment should serve as an example to young Ghanaian girls, noting that women can rise to the country’s highest constitutional offices.

Her appointment has been welcomed as a boost for gender representation in public service and is expected to reinforce public confidence in the Office of the Auditor-General.
