Black Stars seal 2026 World Cup ticket with win over Comoros

Ghana secured a 1-0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, confirming their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mohammed Kudus scored the decisive goal in the 47th minute.

This marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, with the team finishing top of Group I on 25 points from 10 matches. Comoros, who had previously beaten Ghana 1-0 in their first encounter, put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short.

The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating scoring opportunities.

However, Kudus’s clinical finish in the 2nd minute of the second half proved to be the difference-maker.

The Black Stars will now join other African nations, including Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia, at the world’s biggest football stage, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in June 2026.
