Ghana’s Black Stars will take on England’s Three Lions today, 23 June, in a FIFA World Cup Group L fixture at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, near Boston.
The match marks the first competitive meeting between the two nations.
England is entering the fixture as one of the tournament’s established heavyweights, having won the FIFA World Cup in 1966 and reached the semi-finals in both 1990 and 2018. They are widely expected to challenge for progression from the group.
Ghana, represented by the Ghana national football team, are making their fifth World Cup appearance. Their strongest showing came in 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals becoming only the third African nation to achieve that milestone.
England, represented by the England national football team, will look to maintain their strong tournament pedigree and secure a positive result to strengthen their position in Group L.
The match will kick off at 4:00 pm local time at Gillette Stadium.
The match forms part of the Group L schedule, with both teams looking to strengthen their position ahead of the knockout rounds.
