The African – Diaspora Nursing Alliance (A-DNA) will host its 2026 U.S. Global Conference,
“Voices of Change: Translating Innovation into Action for Global Health,” on August 21-22, 2026, at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in Baltimore, Maryland.
The conference will bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, policymakers, and global health leaders from across the African diaspora to collaborate on innovative solutions that improve health outcomes worldwide.
The two-day event will feature keynote speakers, expert panels, breakout workshops, research presentations, and networking opportunities focused on emergency care, advanced practice nursing, artificial intelligence, global workforce development, health equity, advocacy, hypertension, and transitional care.
Community Health Fair
As part of A-DNA’s weekend of health, education, and community engagement, Redeemers Church
of Christ, in collaboration with A-DNA, will host a Community Health Fair on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at 10001 Aerospace Road, Lanham, Maryland 20706.
The community-centered event will provide blood pressure, blood glucose, and lipid screenings, along with patient registration support, mobile health clinic services, health education, and other wellness resources.
Fundraising Reception
The conference will conclude with a Fundraising Reception on Saturday, August 22, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. The evening will celebrate excellence in African diaspora healthcare while raising funds to support A-DNA’s global health, nursing education, and community development initiatives.
Proceeds from the reception will support several impactful programs, including:
-The 2027 G-DNA Community Health Fair in the Northern Region, which will provide free health
screenings, health education, wellness support, and medical supplies to underserved communities.
-UGMC’s Journey to ANCC Pathway to Excellence®, supporting the University of Ghana Medical
Centre’s effort to become the first hospital in Africa to achieve this prestigious nursing designation.
-Scholarships for Ghanaian nurses and midwives to attend the 2027 G-DNA/ A-DNA Annual
Conference.
-The 2027 Advanced Education Fund, which invests in advanced education, professional
development, and leadership opportunities for African nurses.
