Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup: Mohammed Kudus honoured with mural in Nima

The Black Stars player Mohammed Kudus has been honoured with a mural painting in Nima, an area in Central Accra, following his outstanding performance in the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Kudus scored twice as the Black Stars beat South Korea 3-2 on Monday (28 November).

Kudus made it 2-0 for the Black Stars after connecting with Jordan Ayew’s cross. After South Korea drew level thanks to Jo Gue-sung’s double, Kudus scored the game-winning goal off a cross from Gideon Mensah.

He became the second-youngest African player to score two goals in a World Cup match, trailing only the Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa (then aged 21 years and 254 days old) for Nigeria against Argentina in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Ajax man also became the first Ghanaian to score two goals in a single World Cup match.

The artist behind the mural, Moh Awudu, said he wants it to be a reminder and an inspiration for the youth of Nima showing that, with dedication, they can take on the world. Mohammed Kudus is from Nima and great performance has became inspiration and  light to the entire community especially the youth.
