Renowned music group Wazumbians awarded certificate of honor by NYPD, USA

Ghanaian music Group, Wazumbians has been awarded a certificate of recognition by the New York Police Department, USA, and the Cecil Harlem for their outstanding contribution and commitment toward African music and culture.

The Afro-fusion band is eminent for their pioneering role in world music around the globe.

The bands have been in the United States since the middle of last July and have so far taken their infectious African rhythms to venues in New York, Philadelphia, Idaho, and Virginia.

Leader of the band, multi-instrumentalist Francis Chapman Abban-Hagan, better known as Wazumbi who received the award on behalf of the group expressed appreciation to the department for the honor.

He also extended his gratitude to AFROMONDO production for believing in them and ASK-TK SOUNDS for their support.

The Wazumbians play vibrant Afro-fusion style mixed with highlife, Jazz, Afro-beat, Reggae, and a variety of Ghanaian traditional rhythms. They are inspired by music greats such as Bob Marley, Salif Keita, Fela Kuti, and Lucky Dube.
